Detailed Description

The new Lynx DAT160 drives have arrived, and with it, a new roadmap for DDS/DAT.

The new DAT160 uses 8mm tapes with the same top-down view as the 4mm tapes, and is able to load and read/write DAT40 and DAT72 tapes. With a doubling of the tape surface area, the roadmap for DAT has re-opened.

Based on HP mechanisms, the Lynx DAT160 drives possess the following characteristics and unique features:
